ReplyDeleteSometime back you asked about the CFA formula for determining an appropriate cleared area between a house and the bulk of the forest. Sorry for taking so long to reply, but the information is contained in a CFA publicaion titled "Understanding Vegetation Management for Wildfire". It is a workbook that allows assessment of the main factors at play in a wildfire situation. After assessing our place the distances worked out at 80m to the north and 30m to the south. On Black Saturday these figures seemed appropriate.
